This is the most basic function of the starter motor. When the driver turns the key or presses the start button, the DC motor inside the starter motor starts working, consuming the battery's electrical energy to generate a powerful rotating magnetic field, thereby outputting high-speed mechanical rotational power.

2. Driving the Engine Flywheel (Overcoming Initial Resistance)

An internal combustion engine cannot start working from a standstill on its own; it must be driven by an external force. The starter motor, through its front drive gear, meshes with the gear ring on the edge of the engine flywheel. Its powerful rotational torque overcomes the compression resistance, frictional resistance, and viscous resistance of the engine oil, driving the engine crankshaft to rotate.
